GlassDharma Review and Giveaway

As some of you may know by now, I am actively trying to come up with solutions to make my life more eco-friendly and to lower my carbon footprint. What you don't know is that I am addicted to using straws. I seriously have to have a straw to drink my drinks. I have really sensitive teeth and I also drink a lot of tea and coffee, which is known for staining. Using a straw helps prevent all of that from happening to me. Unfortunately, straw are awful for the environment. Even the so called re-usable plastic ones are eventually chucked into the trash as they become disgusting, brittle and too hard to clean.

Luckily for me, Glass Dharma came to my rescue. They sent me s nice set of their various straws. I have never used, nor even heard of, glass straws. So naturally, I was curious to try them. I don't drinks soda often, but I decided to for my first Glass Dharma experience. I am known to chew on my straws to make it harder to sip out of. With that on my mind, I decided to try the "Sipper" straw first. It was exactly what I was expecting, if not better. I love how small the hole is and how it allows me to sip on my drink for a long time without depleting it. My sipper has green glass dots on the sides to help color code the drinks and to prevent the straw from rolling off of the counter. The straw is a little short, so it tends to fall too far into my soda. I had the genius idea of turning the tab around and placing my straw through it. That way the dots and tab helped hold the straw in place.

GlassDharma makes 4 different sized straws in multiple varieties. They seem to have a straw for all of your drinking needs. You can get them in different diameters, as well as curved or equipped with decorative glass dots. I unfortunately did not get to try the one I wanted and would use most: the Bubble Tea Straw. I somehow was mistaken, and assumed that one of my straws was the 14mm. It was not.. I tried to use the smoothie straw to no avail. It is difficult enough trying to use it for smoothies. I was determined though as I love bubble tea, but HATE those thick, powdery plastic straws they give you. Boy was I embarrassed after proudly stating that I brought my own straw, only having to go up to the counter with my tail tucked between my legs to ask for one of theirs when mine did not work. Needless to say, I now have one more item added to my birthday/Christmas list. (My birthday is the 15th of December, and I usually get jipped as far as presents go, since people like to combine the two days instead of giving me my own special day.)

Here is the assortment I received. I loved the variety:

Please note that not all straws come with a cleaning brush. I do recommend that you buy one though, as they make the cleaning process a lot easier.
