A Scandle of a Candle!

Scandle® LLC, founded in 2005, has grown into a company committed to providing customers with professional-grade, spa quality, skin care products that are made with the industry’s most natural ingredients. We are committed to quality which means no petroleums or mineral oils, 100% Vegan, drug-free, & cruelty-free products. Our corporate offices are in Addison, Texas, but our presence is international. From major department stores in Japan to independent licensed massage therapists' offices in small towns across the United States...Everybody Loves a Scandle...

Scandle® believes that nature provides us with it’s own healing and restorative properties. They have harnessed the power of nature through their collection of unique, high-quality, eco friendly, spa and beauty products.

In addition to their Signature Body Massage Candles; Scandle also offers Dead Sea Salt Scrubs & Soaks, items for Manicures & Pedicures, and even essential oil foams to treat those sensitive areas.

I was recently sent a Scandle of my own to try in the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent. I have to say I rather enjoyed it. Although, it does seem to be more of a feminine scent. We use candles quite a bit in my family, and we have come to be a bit picky about them. You can really tell that the Scandle was designed to be more than a candle. Not only does this candle smell and look great, but it is perfect for massages, mani/pedis, and a moisturizer as well. Scandle® Aromatherapy Essentials Body Candles are created from all natural, pure essential oils.

Despite expecting to try an Aromatherapy Blend, I was super impressed by the Warm Vanilla Sugar Scandle. It is the perfect blend of warm vanilla with a bit of a musky back note. I love the color od the handmade ceramic pot it comes in. The spout makes it easy to pour onto the skin once the was has melted. Unlike melted paraffin wax which cools and clumps on the skin, soy wax melts into an oil that remains soft on skin because its melting point is just a few degrees above body temperature. Scandle's soy wax blend includes Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin A, E, and Omega 3 to give your skin a moisturizing and enjoyable treatment.

Fall in Love this Valentines with Whiskey Bottom Candle Company

My family and I have really enjoyed using Whiskey Bottom candles and melts so far. Even before melting/lighting, their scents were profound. Upon first glance, the products looked really nice with unique labeling and packaging. I was sent several scents to try; two candles and three packages of melts.

I tend to use a lot of wax melts in my day-to-day. They don't bother my nose as much and tend to be a lot safer. Despite that fact, I really wanted to see what Whiskey Bottom's candles were all about. I love the idea that the wax is poured into old wine and whiskey bottles. That is upcycling at its finest!

I want to point out how great it is that the Cedar Forest candle label says "soy tarts" when in fact, it should say "soy candle". It proves just how wonderfully handmade these candles are. Machines don't tend to make many mistakes, but they also cut out the need for real people having jobs and use a lot of electricity.. I love it! That one tiny flaw makes this candle even more perfect!

Beyond labels, the Cedar Forest scent itself is fantastic. It is also very aesthetically pleasing, and I am proud to have it burning in my home. I am also a bit of a hoarder upcycling fanatic, and will definitely be turning these into something after the soy itself is long gone. This candle has many scents, all of which I love. The fact that Whiskey Bottom has combined them all together just makes me smile. Rich and complex, this scent offers top notes of leather, tobacco, amber and musk, with bottom notes of black tea and pepper. At its base, this candle features the scent of aged teakwood with patchouli and sandalwood. This is truly a scent to be remembered! I am SO beyond stoked that this is not a seasonal scent.

I also received a Whiskey Bottom candle cleverly called Great Pumpkin. It reminds me of being a kid and watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". Not only does the name remind me of those times, but the scent does as well. The Great Pumpkin candle just screams fall. I love it! It is so relaxing and comforting. When it is lit I sometimes like to sit in a comfy recliner chair with a hot cup of tea and just close my eyes. This candle makes me feel so cozy with its intoxicating scent of spiced pumpkin drizzled with caramel and a light hint of coffee.

First off, WOW! These have got to be the largest soy tarts I have ever seen! And secondly, ohhhmygod. These things smell delicious! I did happen to choose very food-esque scents, but I usually love them. The softer scents of baked goods don't often hurt my nose and sinuses as other scents would. I cannot tolerate scents like pear, rose, cucumber, ocean breeze, etc. The list goes on and on. Any slight disagreement sends my sinuses into max pressure mode and I end up going to bed early with a headache. With that being said, these scents are pretty neutral, with a slight exception of the berries.

The Cupcake soy tarts are utterly delightful. The first time I tried one of them on my warmer it melted perfectly sending its scent around the house within minutes. Mmm. It really does smell like freshly baked cupcakes. It reminds me of the times spent following my Mom around in the kitchen, begging to lick the bowl. I always got the batter in my hair and all over my face. What a brat I was! This candle is the ultimate indulgence with aromas of buttery cake topped with a sweet, whipped icing. This scent seems to last for almost 3 days being on my tart warmer consistently without ever being turned off. Totally worth every penny for sure! The Vanilla Berry smells so yummy, but I find that I half to mix it with the Cupcake to not cause sinus problems. The Blueberry Crumble is like that for me as well. I wish that wasn't the case, as both of the scents are beautiful on their own, as is the Cupcake. I hate having to use the Cupcake tarts up in order to enjoy the scents of the other two, but I suppose it is worth it! They all smell wonderful together, and make me feel like a tart mixin' chemist! haha

All in all, the Whiskey Bottom Soy Tarts have exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be getting more of these! Maybe in the Great Pumpkin and Cedar Forest scents this time. I super loved those!

Day 9 of 15 days of Giveaways-Auromère Review, Giveaway, and FREE SAMPLES!

Over 30 years ago Auromère Ayurvedic Imports started as a small community-owned business that became one of the first companies to introduce Ayurveda to the U.S. Today Auromere is a leading importer of Ayurvedic body care, conscious living products and literature. Auromère’s mission is to bring the ancient spiritual and traditional healing wisdom of India and a higher consciousness within reach of our modern, fast-paced lives.

More than just natural, the wild-crafted herbs and minerals used within the Auromère recipes are noted for their unique beneficial and rejuvenative qualities.  The purity and effectiveness of the Ayurvedic ingredients, formulations and manufacturing procedures make Auromère products distinctively different and delightfully powerful for maintaining health, well-being, and beauty.  Products include toothpaste, mouth wash, handmade soaps, neem balm, shampoo, mud bath, massage oil, body lotion, aromatherapy incense and more.  In addition to that, Auromère imports a wide range of books on Ayurveda, Holistic Health, Integral Yoga, and classical spiritual texts from India.

The product I really wanted to try was the Incense. I often suffer from allergies while burning incense because it is made of lesser quality ingredients. It is a bit harder than one might think to find higher quality incense. I have been longing for some quality incense sticks for awhile, and  Auromère came to my rescue! I got to try three different scents from the Aromatherapy line. The fragrances I chose were: Patchouli, Indian Cedar, and Lavender. I am completely smitten with any earthy or herbal type of fragrance. What I love about these fragrances is that they each offer a unique effect.

The Lavender incense promotes a steadying influence on the psyche, tempering extreme emotional states with a sense of rationality. Counteractive for stress, anger, depression, hypertension, mood sings, insomnia, etc

The Ceder incense is Calming and elevating, anti-depressive, helps develop a sense of self-control, integrity and fortitude, clears the mind (good for daydreamers and the absent-minded), helpful for breath control (pranayama).

The Patchouli (my personal favorite) strengthens the nerves and stimulates the senses, it acts as an anti-depressive, helps put problems into perspective, and is regenerative.

I LOVE that these incense sticks are hand rolled. Makes for a better product!

I use these incense with an open state of mind, oftentimes while meditating or doing yoga. Each scent really paints a different picture for me as I focus on my breathing while enjoying the delicate and aromatic smoke billowing around me.

Day 7 of 15 Days of Giveaways-One-derings Lavender Farm

Onederings is a Lavender Farm in Ohio ran by two sisters: Amy and Kim. They have over 18 varieties of lavandula, which are divided into two main groups, Angustifolia, commonly referred to as English Lavender and lavandin, commonly referred to as French lavender.

The English lavender is shorter in size, a sweeter, lighter aroma and tends to dry a darker, cleaner blue purple. It is the lavender used for culinary purposes, tea and predominately used in a health clinical. This English lavender dries in more of a “fountain” shape and when dried represents most of what we sell for bridal bouquets. French lavender is tall , up to 3 feet, has a stronger perfume aroma and is used for crafts, perfumes, and sachets.*

I love that this business is sister owned and operated!

One-derings products deliver noticeably softer and smoother skin, often in just a few uses. They grow their own herbs and process them in an herb cottage. They infuse their own herbs into extra virgin olive oil to formulate an array of beneficial products.

The product I tried (and fell in love with) was the Lavender LotionThis lotion was created for gardening without gloves. It is rich but not greasy, and provides the right balance of protection against moisture loss and herbal-based healing for healthy, soft skin. This lotion contains shea butter, aloe along with the essential oils of lavender, chamomile, calendula and sage. I love how the fragrance is strong, yet somehow light. Lavender has always been an uplifting scent for me, bringing me a deep sense of well being and utter relaxation. The scent lingers on the skin for a good while. I have found that mixing this lotion with a drop or two of JoJoba oil makes for an excellent and easy DIY massage lotion.

Needless to say, I am anxious to get my hands on some of their other items. Especially some of their fresh Lavender (which is a seasonal item, and will be back next summer!) In addition to fresh Lavender and the lotion I reviewed, One-Derings also offers other Lavender products: Night Cream, Exfoliating Cream, Eye Cream, Lip Balm, Butter Treatment, Massage Oil, Bath Oil, Bar Soap, Castille Soap, Bug Repellant, Bath Salts, Vitamin C Serum, Linen Spray, Oatmeal Masks, Salt Scrub as well as Gift Sets.

Sassy Wax Review and Giveaway

I love soy candles, but have recently been using tarts/wax melts/wax cubes, whatever you choose to call them! They are great, and seem to work way better than candles without all of the extra danger involved. Is it just me, or are other people constantly nervous when a candle is lit?

I recently contacted Sassy Wax, and they agreed to send me a variety of their soy melts. They smell so good I could just eat them! I smelled them before opening the box, and was mistakenly stoked about getting cookies. Alas, it was a box of soy melts, not cookies. Despite being a huge cookie lover, I wasn't disappointed. I don't need the extra calories, and more importantly, the soy melts are amazing!

Mi Lucero Soy Candle Review and Giveaway

I reallly love candles. I always have a candle burning, or a wax melt burning. Since trying to go green, I have learned a lot about regular candles. Some of them aren't so clean, and definitely aren't very green. Soy candles allow me to enjoy an aromatic home without worry or regret. Needles to say, I was very excited when I received my Mi Lucero Soy Candle.
